Software quality
One of the reasons why the expression "software industry" can be so misleading
is that a major analogy with manifacturing fails to hold: in software, it is
often the poor quality of the "product" that makes it so expensive to make! In
programming, nothing is cheaper than not introducing the bugs in the first
place.
